Your foot is an extremely articulated and complex anatomical structure: 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles! Garmont starts from the inside and work outward – by understanding the anatomy of the foot and analyzing the movements – in order to create the best boots’ performance.

Today we’ll focus on the ADD technology: Garmont’s Anatomically Direct Design enables your foot’s natural ability to stabilize, absorb shock and propel forward. This tech has been developed in house, and comes out from the great experience in many years of shoes making.

Garmont ADD is made out of 5 different features: let’s check them out!

ASYMMETRICAL CUFF

The ankle cuff is lower on the outside and taller on the inside. This brings better edging, greater overall stability and comfort when traversing and scrambling.

ANATOMICAL TONGUE

The shoes’ tongue matches the asymmetric shape of the top of your foot. It’s thicker to the outside and progressively get thinner toward the inside. This anatomic shape keeps the tongue in place resulting in better control, stability and comfort.

DIFFERENTIAL ANKLE PADS

To have a better stability and support, we securely lock the heel in place. This brings a much more precise fit around the ankle bones.

PRECISION LACING

Lacing is extremely important for every kind of shoe… with Garmont’s Precision Lacing technology the shoe flexes exactly like your foot, for out-of-the-box walking comfort!

ROOMY TOE BOX

In order to have a better foot comfort, the shoe features a straighter shape to accommodate the natural position of the big toe. With this design your toes can provide better balance and propulsion!

These are the main features of Garmont ADD technology; if you’re curious to see them in action you must try our shoes!!
